Accounts Receivable (AR) – Collections Specialist
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an A/R – Accountant to join our clients’ Accounts Receivable team, focused on collecting past?due invoices and strengthening client relationships. The best candidate will collaborate closely with Cash Application and offshore Collections teammates, analyze aged receivables to identify risks/root causes, and help improve collections processes and documentation. Training begins onsite, and the role offers hybrid flexibility thereafter.
Location: Urbandale, IA 50323
Work setting: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (flexible) – Hybrid; onsite 2 days/week (about 6 times/month)
Type: 6 months / Contract?to?hire
Compensation: $35.00 per hour

Day?to?Day & Core Responsibilities
- Proactively collect on past?due invoices via phone/email while maintaining a professional client experience.
- Partner with Cash Application and coordinate with offshore Collections teams to drive timely resolution and accurate payment application.
- Analyze and report on past?due trends; surface risks and identify root causes of non?payment to inform strategy.
- Document and improve procedures for general collections and reporting; assist with process efficiency initiatives with onshore peers.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOX controls in all AR activities.
Qualifications
Must?Haves
- 1-3 years in collections, A/R, finance, or related role (prior A/R experience strongly preferred).
- Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, filtering/sorting, pivots or equivalent reporting).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and professionalism; able to multi?task and prioritize in a fast?paced environment.
- Tools/Systems: Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook (Excel used frequently)
Nice?to?Haves
- Bachelor’s degree (not required).
- Prior reporting and/or project work experience.
- Attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Familiarity with Oracle and Webcas.
Pay Details: $24.30 per hour
